Job Description

Reporting to plant leadership, you will manage plant environment, health, and safety programs to support safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible operations. You will lead the development and execution of a facility-wide safety and environmental culture by providing technical guidance, developing programs, and building strong partnerships across the plant. You will implement key safety and environmental concepts that support zero injuries, regulatory compliance, and sustainable performance while analyzing data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.A Taste of Your ResponsibilitiesManage all aspects of environmental, health, safety, and sustainability programs at the plantDirect environmental compliance and performance activities in alignment with government regulations, company guidelines, and applicable environmental requirementsEnsure timely preparation and submission of all required environmental reportsPromote an accident-free work environment by developing programs that routinely train, monitor, and support safe work practicesPlan and deliver training programs for managers and employees on workplace safety and environmental practicesSupport incident investigations and prepare reports required by regulatory agenciesConduct inspections and audits within the plant and at other facilities to identify existing or potential hazards and recommend corrective or preventive actionsFacilitate the Central Safety Committee process through active participation and serve as a resource to subcommitteesAdminister initial workers’ compensation processesGuide the plant toward compliance with state, federal, and local safety and environmental regulationsDetermine and direct required compliance training to meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Environmental Protection Agency, and company requirementsAnalyze safety and environmental performance data to identify trends, recommend improvements, and drive continuous improvement initiativesPartner with plant leadership to strengthen engagement, accountability, and ownership of environmental, health, and safety programsIngredients Required for Your SuccessBachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Safety Management, Environmental Health, Environmental Health and Safety, or a related field preferredFive or more years of industrial safety experience requiredCertified Safety Professional certification preferredStrong proficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExperience building and leading teamsThorough knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Environmental Protection Agency, and Department of Transportation regulationsExperience interpreting state and federal regulations and applying them to facility operationsExperience preparing regulatory reports, business correspondence, and procedure documentationExperience performing risk assessments and auditsExperience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing sound conclusionsExperience interpreting technical instructions presented in mathematical or diagram form while managing multiple variablesPhysical RequirementsMore information about essential tasks and the facility will be shared during the hiring process. This role may require you to be in our manufacturing facilities. When visiting these sites, the physical requirements below may apply:You may be required to walk around the facility, climb stairs/ladders, kneel, or perform repetitive tasks that require hand-eye coordination.You may be required to lift or carry materials that can vary in weight and size.This is a manufacturing environment with large, moving equipment. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity.
